Professional Coaching requires Professional
Training
With
people using the term 'coaching' very liberally
nowadays, and even becoming self-proclaimed coaches,
it is critical to ensure that any personal or
business coach you retain be not only properly
trained but also trained by an accredited
organisation.
There
is a massive difference in the quality and quantity
of the training coaches receive. Better training and
greater experience do translate into far better
results for you. If you do your research and choose
the right coach who is also well trained, you'll get
a lot more value from your coaching experience.
The
International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the only
world-wide authority that can deem a training course
valid or not. As the world's first and largest
professional association of personal and business
coaches, the ICF seeks to preserve the integrity of
coaching, internationally. It supports and fosters
the development of the coaching profession; has
programs to maintain and upgrade the standards of the
profession; conducts a certification program that is
the gold standard for coaches world-wide; and runs
the world's premier conference and other educational
events for coaches. The ICF is also actively involved
in researching and developing programs in the legal,
regulatory, and credentialing areas that will serve
coaches and their clients. As the largest non-profit
professional association of personal and business
coaches, the ICF counts nearly 9000 members across 34
countries. See www.coachfederation.org
The
Coaches Training Institute (CTI) was the first
organisation to receive accreditation from the ICF
for the training and certification program it offers.
For the past 14 years, CTI has trained thousands of
life coaches worldwide using its powerful, co-active
coaching model. With over 100 faculty members, CTI is
internationally recognised as the frontrunner in the
industry. See www.thecoaches.com
